I’d also add on that you need to reframe your skills for the job you want, not the one you have (especially when looking for a new employer). I started my career as a front-end web developer, but recently was asked if I had any technical background and would be comfortable talking to engineers. That made me realize that perhaps I’d edited my technical background out of my resume TOO much, but it meant I was being considered for strategic roles, not writing code.
