are designed to search and find profitable business models for the ideas being generated. …lot of innovation labs are well designed to spark the creative juices of the people who work there. However, very few labs are designed to search and find profitable business models for the ideas being generated. Creativity Labs may be. R&D Labs may be. Innovation Labs… not really!
I’m confused by this: is it backwards? I’d suppose that Innovation labs are most likely to be focusing on business models than those focusing on creativity or R&D?
Creativity labs: focusing on what’s desireable
R&D labs: focusing on what’s technically feasible
So who is focusing on what’s financially viable?
The Innovation lab I established at ReadyTalk purposely hired for people to focus on each of the three lenses, because we were worried about this gap.
